Więcej o albumie Fisz Emade “Heavi Metal”

Od ostatniej płyty Fisza i Emade minęły już dwa lata. W międzyczasie bracia nagrali wspólnie z ojcem Wojciechem Waglewskim album “Męska Muzyka” (obecnie status złotej płyty).

Nowa płyta “Heavi Metal” to dzieło dość surowe, w dużej części zagrane na żywo, zrealizowane z lekko eksperymentalnym zacięciem przez Emade - producenta płyty. To także muzyczne wycieczki w okres pierwszych, syntetycznych płyt hiphopowych z połowy lat 80′ych. Na albumie nie brakuje tez klasycznych samplowanych produkcji charakterystycznych dla wczesnych płyt braci Waglewskich.

Pod względem tekstowym to liryczne podróze do okresu szkolnego, do czasów przełomu transformacyjnego w Polsce. To właśnie wtedy małoletni wówczas bracia byli wiernymi fanami nurtu Heavy Metal, stąd w tekstach pojawiają sie nazwy zespołów “Anthrax”, “Sodom” czy “Iron Maiden” obok lekcji WF, czy “najdłuższych nóg w szkole”. Płyta “Heavi Metal” nie jest jednak do końca dziełem autobiograficznym. Choć dużo tu opowiedzianych ironizującym językiem opowieści w pierwszej osobie, to są to jednak głównie historie usłyszane od innych.

Gościnnie na albumie: Sqbass, Mariusz Obijalski (obecnie w składzie koncertowym Fisz Emade Tworzywo), Envee oraz Wojtek Traczyk (Muzykoterapia).

Widzę, że ktoś wpadł na pomyśl, aby ostatnią kampanię wizerunkową Polski z telewizji CNN przenieść na grunt muzyczny. Choć raczej bym w to powątpiewał i widział w kompilacji “Bar Warsaw. Classic & New Polish Flavours” najprostszy z możliwych zbiegów okoliczności. Zresztą co tutaj dużo mówić - o dokonaniach polskiej muzyki wie wielu wielkich. Jason Swinscoe z Cinematic Orchestra, DJ Vadim, Coldcut, Jazzanova, Blockhead, Nicola Conte oraz The Glimmers, Morgan Geist czy Daniel Wang. Zresztą w przypadku tych trzech ostatnich chodzi o inicjatywę, która wyszła, że tak powiem lokalnie. Chodzi o kompilację “Astigmatic Inspired By Chopin”, o której szerzej oraz kompletnie napisałem niedawno na swoim blogu.

Dwukompaktowa składanka “Bar Warsaw. Classic & New Polish Flavours” wpisuje się w cykl wydawniczy brytyjskiej wytwórni Nascente, która od pewnego czasu promuje tradycyjne oraz bardziej współczesne - nowoczesne brzmienia z różnych stron świata. Były już barowe pozycje z Paryża, Moskwy, Tokio, Lisbony, Istambułu, Edynburga, Rio, Aten, Bejingu, Bombaju, Meksyku, Madrytu czy Berlina. Po japońskiej edycji przyszła kolej na wgląd w to, co brzmi za granicami Kraju Nad Wisłą. Z covera można dowiedzieć się, że autorzy polskiej edycji wiedzą o traumatycznej przeszłości Warszawy; że Polska to największy kraj “nowej Europy”. Choć muzyka na tej kompilacji nie jest wyłącznie stołeczna. Nazwę należy traktować jako wyłącznie synonim polskiej muzyki. Tak jak poprzednie części składanka “Bar Warsaw. Classic & New Polish Flavours” podzielona jest na dwie części - klasyczną oraz nową. Na każdą przeznaczono godzinny materiał. Pierwszy kompakt został wypełniony przez złożony polski folk. Raz jest bardziej romsko (fenomenalne czardasze Edyty Geppert), góralsko (Yerba Mater), rockowo-balladowo (Archinta) albo też wyłaniają się teatralne ilustracje (Ogrody Alamut). Do tej klasyczności krążka nie pasuje zbytnio nowoczesny dub Berklejdy (coś w stylu Wszystkie Wschody Słońca) oraz rockowy Lao Che. Drugi część “Bar Warsaw. Classic & New Polish Flavours” to już totalny przekrój przez alternatywne brzmienie made in Poland. Skupie się na tych najbardziej nowatorskich. Płytę “New” otwiera góralskie etno w naładowanym basowa energią rytmie drum’n'bass czyli Vilage Kollektiv. Następnie niecodzienne reggae’owe podskoki Masali oraz skwaszona i zdubowana przeróbka utworu Warsaw Village Band w wykonaniu Transglobal Underground - legend world music. Folktronika i połamane rytmy to Psio Crew, a mroczny i potężny trip hop z Wrocławia - bezapelacyjnie należy do Digit All Love. A końcówka drugiego krążka “Bar Warsaw. Classic & New Polish Flavours” to downtempo w różnej maści. Bardziej orientalne (Soomood), psychodeliczno-transowe (Goloka) lub też ocierające się o glitch (Sulphur Phuture). Doskonała kompilacja dźwięków z różnych nurtów, której z wielką przyjemnością słucha się.

Jeden z najbardziej znanych zagranicznych znawców historii Polski - Walijczyk profesor Norman Davies stwierdził kiedyś, że współczesna Polska to twór sztuczny. Na przestrzeni dziejów Rzeczpospolita nigdy nie była monoetniczna. Zawsze sporą część społeczeństwa stanowiły mniejszości narodowe. Jak to było w przypadku II Rzeczpospolitej - jedna trzecia. A to z kolei wpływało na intelektualne bogactwo. Mówię to, bo na kompilacji “Bar Warsaw. Classic & New Polish Flavours” wyczuwa się wieloetniczną spuściznę polskiej kultury z przestrzeni wieków. Nie będę owijał w bawełnę i przyznam, że w przypadku krążka “Classic” wiele nazw zespołów tudzież projektów niewiele mi mówiło lub były obce - nieznane. Ale zawsze wyciągam z tego wnioski. Muszę przyznać, że oznacza to tylko, jak mało wiemy o rodzimej twórczości i czeka przed nami dużo pracy, aby odkryć i docenić w pełni naszą tradycję. Rozpoczynam od siebie - zakasam rękawy już od jutra. A tak w ogóle to pozycja “Bar Warsaw. Classic & New Polish Flavours” jest równie ważna, jak tegoroczna reedycja albumu “String Beat” Henryka Debicha. Te albumy trzeba mieć z czystego obowiązku bycia częścią tej wspaniałej i wysmakowanej kultury.

Często jestem zaskakiwany przewrotnością życiorysów niektórych muzyków. Tych początkujących, jak i tych bardziej doświadczonych. Oto kolejny ciekawy przykład. Pewien młody chłopak - instrumentalny samouk z Warszawy wyszedł z gitarowego półświatka Metaliki, Led Zeppelin, Queen oraz Korn’a kierując swoje dźwiękowe zapatrywanie tak szeroko, jak rozległy jest Ocean Atlantycki. W jego życiu przyszła kolej na bardziej klasyczny i nieco nowocześniejszy - współczesny jazz oraz gamę elektronicznych eksperymentów. I tak oto z 22-letniego Łukasza Wasilewskiego powstał on - lukeing forward.

Przyglądam się z wielkim zainteresowaniem jego twórczości, od kiedy tylko wypuścił swoją EPkę “Mysterious Bats From The Slums” będący jego historycznym debiutem. Po kilku miesiącach od tego wydawnictwa dla amerykańskiej wytwórni Next Dimension Music, Łukasz ląduje w Niemczech. A dokładnie w łonie netlabela Rec72. Nie oznacza to, że jest to produkt gorszy od ‘fizycznych’ odpowiedników, co pokazuje chociażby dokonania ikony sieciowych wytwórni - oficyny Thinner. Ów Rec72 postanowił wydać kolejny debiut Wasilewskiego, tym razem albumowy.

(Wirtualny) longplay “Wandering in Urban Fog” to przede wszystkim rozbudowane w treści downtempo zanurzone w przeklętym, zdeprawowanym i ponurym brzmieniu brutalnej, miejskiej rzeczywistości dubstepu. Doprowadził on do syntezy filmowego klimatu leniwie poruszających się konstrukcji, które zostają nabierają pamięta przy zetknięciu się ze schowanym gdzieś w bocznych uliczkach niezresocjalizowanym podkładem basu. Tak jest chociażby w “Reverse the Order”. Dubstepish (jak to sam lukeing forward określił) napiera i stręczy tempo 130-140 uderzeń na minutę. Coś zupełnie innego aniżeli Łukasz pokazał na swojej debiutanckiej EPce. I moim zdaniem coś wiele bardziej, stokroć oryginalszego od poprzedniego wydawnictwa. I co najważniejsze deficyt gatunkowej czystości jeszcze bardziej przekonuje do tej autorskiej wędrówki po urbanistycznej mozaice dźwięków.

Pierwszy raz słyszę, by ktoś dubstep połączył z downtempo. Słyszałem wielokrotnie o podążaniu dubstepu śladami np. techno, ale nigdy w stronę nujazzowych ilustracji. Z zapowiadanej eksperymentalnej elektroniki, w sensie pokręcony i łamiący się rytm, wyszło w sumie niewiele. Ale jeżeli ktoś ową “doświadczalność” rozumie nieco szerzej, aniżeli pochodną intelligent digital music (a nie tam żadne intelligent dance music), to cały album “Wandering in Urban Fog” potraktuje jako test. Który wyjątkowo dobrze wypadł Wasilewskiemu. Materiał z tego longplay’a możecie pobrać bezpośrednio stąd. Zachęcam także do obejrzenia klipu zmontowanego do electro-dubstepowo-ambientowo-choleria-wie-co-jeszcze numeru “Insane Landing”.
